This will be our twenty-third summer running basketball camp.
We realize that there are many other summer programs out there, but
in our opinion the price and quality of ours cannot be beat. Coaches
and parents have told us for years that our program is the best run
in the region. I myself direct the camp and am in attendance each
and every day; I even sleep here during our overnight camps! When
you stop to evaluate our camp vs. any other camp in the region,
please take the time to consider the following:
1. Experience. As the Head Basketball coach at The College of Saint
Rose for the past 22 years, I have directed every phase of our camp
since 1986. No other director in the region has the experience I
have. In addition to me, several of our staff members have over 15
years experience each.
2. Staff. The life-blood of our camp. We only hire adults. We have
no high school students, junior counselors or interns on our staff.
Only High School or College coaches or college players who aspire to
coach “at the next level”. All are paid for their expertise.
3. Facilities. Everything we do is indoors, including our indoor
pool. The weather never affects our program. The gym at St Rose has
AC too!
4. Philosophy. Our philosophy includes the following: We strive to
have each camper be Safe. Have Fun. Learn and Develop their
Self-Esteem through positive reinforcement and individual attention.
We teach beginners through varsity level athletes. We are a
fundamentals camp. We do compete but we do not emphasize
competition. They get enough competition all year. We want them to
relax, make new friends and try new things.
Due to a production problem, our brochures will be ready in about
two weeks. Meanwhile you may use the attached application to
register for camp. If you have any questions I can be reached at
(518) 458-5490, or ask for Mike at 458-5495. Of course you can reach
me via email @ beauryb@strose.edu. Look forward to seeing you this
summer.
Thanks,
Brian Beaury
Head Basketball Coach
PS. Our camp is an Albany County Health Department Certified
Children’s Camp. The only basketball Camp in Albany with that
distinction.

conveniently located on St Rose campus close to downtown Albany,
I-90 and State offices. Brian Beaury, Head Coach at St. Rose, is
ranked among the nation's winningest Division II Coaches. He is
at the camp every day-all day! The staff includes top regional

run both programs since. His family helps run the camps as well.

She is now in the Hall of Fame at St Rose for her
accomplishments as a basketball player. Brian's daughter, Alex,
was a standout player at Academy of Holy Name and at St Rose and
now handles much of the office work for camps.
